Oh, Mr. S, you absolute little charmer! At just 5 weeks old, this sweet baby boy came into my studio and immediately captured my heart. He slept so peacefully through almost the entire session making it so easy to photograph him. He was one happy little dude!
His parents brought along a few meaningful props, and we incorporated them into his photos. These personal meaningful touches, help create memories that will be cherished forever. It’s always wonderful to include items that hold sentimental value, as they make the images even more unique and personal.
Now, about the age of newborns for photography—while it’s true that under 2 weeks old is often considered ideal because babies are usually sleepier and more flexible, it’s by no means a strict rule. Older newborns, like Mr. S at 5 weeks, can still have incredible sessions. Every baby is different, and there’s so much beauty to capture at any stage.
My approach to newborn photography is relaxed and adaptable. Whether your baby is just a few days old or a few weeks, I work with their individual personality and needs to create the cutest photos. Older newborns often have a bit more wakeful time, which can lead to capturing those gorgeous wide-eyed expressions alongside the sweet, sleepy poses. Both are equally precious.
My sessions are very limited at this stage, if you are thinking of having a newborn session done with me, its best contact me as soon as baby has arrived as I never know when my calendar is going to fill up. I am usually able to fit babies in within the first 3 weeks of contacting me, but during peak times, such as the end of the year, it can extend up to to 4 or 5 weeks.
As I have been so busy, coming soon will be lifestyle, natural newborn sessions that may be done on the weekend and will be taken by my associate photographer.
