Miss N’s parents missed out on the little newborn photography stage and instead booked their sweet baby in at 4 months old. She did not disappoint at all, this long haired beauty gave us the best of both worlds! A newborn/milestone session.
While the Simple newborn package is designed for babies 3 months and under. it’s definitely not unheard of for older babies to also come and have a newborn session as well. We did not really expect her to fall asleep, and I definitely don’t say that we can capture a sleepy shot or two, but at some stage, the older bubs do tend to get tired. And it can go either way. They can become a bit cranky due to over tiredness and prefer to be held and cuddled in their parents arms, or they can just drift off to sleep with a bit of a feed. I like to tell parents to expect both scenarios as we never truly know how a baby is going to be at a session.
The difference between a milestone and newborn session is that milestones are short. 30 to 45 minutes including changes and a feed if needed is what most bubs can handle. There is also no time to wait for baby to fall asleep, and of course, there’s much less variety. In two hours we were able to get a big variety of poses of baby by herself with the Simple package, with her parents choosing to not be in any photos
