Studio Newborns: 9 Day Old Mister A
Studio newborns at my home studio in Ellenbrook are by far the most popular sessions that I do. 80% of my photography work is this particular session and I could not be more happier! I love focusing on just babies and the interactions with family members. You may notice not many of the images I post has everyone looking into the camera. I do still include them in all my sessions as its still quite traditional. Clients do want them and there is still a place for them in a session. Personally, I adore the interactive shots. I feel the connection between family and baby is such a precious moment and should be remembered for years to come.
This big brother at 3.5 years was so well behaved and was happy to pose, smile, kiss baby etc. I find many new older siblings are still a little apprehensive of their new little baby brother or sister, but not this sweet guy! He was such a champion. He did give up towards the end of the one hour mini session but who can blame in :).
As for the little man, although he did not really sleep for the entire session, he was very relaxed and super chilled for the most part, and we still managed to get a lovely range of images in just one hour. The key to a successful newborn session is not whether babies will fall asleep or not. It really boils down to how calm and relaxed they are. At 9 days old it is expected this little newborn would sleep quite well, but all babies have their own agenda, and I as a photographer expect that, and work with baby to achieve the best possible shots with what they are prepared to give me. They are the boss :))
